Fashion: extravagance or elegance?

Gap, H n’M, Zara: do these mean fashions to you?  Or is fashion synonymous with grace, elegance and dignity?

Fashion has modified the society to have a broader and a modern outlook. Clothing for women has always been defensive, protective, and conservative. In olden days, women were also required to cover their heads. This led to low self-esteem in them. Now, with changing times, fashion has contributed in the emancipation of these very women. It has thus contributed in removing many social evils. However, fashion is sometimes linked to immorality. People follow it blindly and spend extravagantly on the latest fads and run after them. At the expense of valuable time, energy and resources. I conclude, that it is good to be fashionable but it is better to be simple and dignified because simplicity with dignity is the best evergreen fashion.
